Flow state and LSP method love each other very much 😉
LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) method is a powerful tool, that was designed with a purpose, to encourage innovation and problem solving. Based on the research, that show that the combination of working with hands and thinking brings a more elaborate and deep understanding of the world and business environment. The method today is used all over the world to find answers for the most abstract strategic questions.
“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” - Plato
In its essence, LSP method is about solving complex challenges through building models from Lego bricks. The metaphors, that the models represent, serve as a foundation for the discussion inside a group of people, sharing the knowledge and encourage creativity and innovation for finding unique solutions to the given problem.
The method is based on these foundational beliefs about leadership and organisations:
– Leaders don’t have all the answers. Their success depends on accepting all opinions inside the team.
– People by nature want to contribute, be part of something bigger and take ownership for it.
– Allowing every team member to contribute and express him or herself leads to a sustainable business model of the organisation.
– Too often teams do not work optimally and leave human potential unrealised.
– We live in a world, that can best be described as complex and adaptable.
The core process inside LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology consists of 4 steps:
Flow is specific to every individual, which means that everyone enters the state in a different way and through very different activities. Building a model from Lego bricks through the LSP method enables us to activate a bigger part of our brain and thus make available also the subconscious thoughts and knowledge. Normally we are aware of only 5-10% of activities in our brain, which means there is a lot of potential left unused. LSP method brings more out of our brain. Also, the thoughts that are hidden a bit deeper in our subconscious. This means we get better results about ourselves through the models we build and is thus easier to find out what means to be in flow for each individual and how we can more easily access and enter the desired flow state.
